UEFA EURO 2012 Respect Inclusion - Football with No Limits

UEFA is working with the Centre for Access to Football in Europe (CAFE) to deliver the UEFA EURO 2012 Respect Inclusion – Football with No Limits project. This project includes the ‘Football with No Limits’ access initiative and the showcase disability football matches.

The Football With No Limits access initiative has three project parts:

Access to public places in each host city

Respect Inclusion volunteers will assess public places, local businesses and venues in each host city that will be visited by fans during the UEFA EURO 2012 tournament. Special attention will be made to the physical, sensory and intellectual access requirements of disabled football fans and visitors. The Respect Inclusion volunteers will provide guidance and help-sheets (with low cost solutions and simple adjustments) to the managers and owners of the local businesses and venues to assist them in becoming more accessible and welcoming to disabled people. In turn, the most accessible venues and businesses will be awarded an official UEFA EURO 2012 Respect Inclusion ‘disabled-friendly zone sticker and certificate’.

Respect Inclusion access guides

All the access information gathered will be made available to disabled fans and visitors by the means of a tailor-made online guide published at 3 dedicated Respect Inclusion websites. The access guides will be available in Polish, Ukrainian and English at www.polandnolimits.eu and www.invatourism.org.ua and via www.cafefootball.eu or euro2012.cafefootball.eu (with an easy to use translator function for other languages).

Audio-descriptive commentary

The project will also train local volunteers as audio-descriptive commentators so that partially sighted and blind fans can enjoy the match day and stadium ambience alongside their fellow fans during UEFA EURO 2012.
