Disabled passengers are entitled to special assistance at Poznan Lawica Airport and during their journey.
Both Poznan Lawica Airport and operating airlines are obliged to guarantee special assistance to all disabled passengers free of charge, and to ensure that the right to use all facilities is honoured based on local, state and European legislation.
All passengers who wish to apply for special assistance are requested to notify their airline (either in person or through their travel agency) when booking their flight or, at the latest, 48 hours before their flight.
How to ask for assistance?
All passengers who also require assistance at the airport have to notify the provider, POZ Airport Services Ltd. They can do so by:
• Phone: 0048 61 8492 316 or 0048 602 316 160
• SMS: 0048 602 316 160: Send: Name.Surname.Departure date.Departure time.Destination.Flight number
• e-mail: pomoc@airport-poznan.com.pl (Name and surname, date and time of departure, destination and flight number, short information about your disability and form of requested assistance)
• airport’s website and a copy of the form are available here;
After arriving at the airport, disabled passengers can, with ease, announce their arrival and request assistance in special designated call points. These are situated in front of the terminal main entrance, in the parking reception and at the main hall information desk. Call points, parking and terminal entrances are clearly signposted and identified with the standard international symbols.
POLISH RAILWAYS - PKP
PKP has a few trains adjusted to the needs of people on wheelchairs. In the majority of modern trains there are screens in corridors with current information about the route. This information includes planned stops and arrival/departure hours from stations, current speed of the train, current date, time and information on delays. In the compartments there are loudspeakers enabling the train staff to inform the passengers of the next station and other issues related to the timetable and train’s route on a given day. The staff may not always use this facility.
The biggest obstacle for those who use rail transportation is the inaccessibility of train stations and platforms. The main railway station, Poznań Główny, is not adjusted to be suitable for disabled passengers and is also full of obstacles caused by the fact that a new station building is being constructed.
