CAFE continue to work on access in Ukraine

Published on 31 October 2011

CAFE and State Service for Youth and Sports of Ukraine will work together on improving access for disabled supporters at EURO 2012

CAFE and the State Service sign the memorandum

The Centre for Access to Football in Europe and State Service for Youth and Sports of Ukraine have signed a Memorandum of Co-operation to join their efforts in supporting disabled supporters and creating accessible sport infrastructure.

There are more than 2.6 million disabled people in Ukraine. Most of them never participated in any sport or leisure activities. The coming EURO 2012 tournament in Poland and Ukraine is a unique chance to change the current situation using the special influence of football to ensure equal access and social inclusion, improve conditions for disabled supporters and raise awareness more widely in society.

Co-operation between CAFE and the State Service is aimed at improving the current situation for EURO 2012 and its legacy by adopting good practice solutions for new and existing stadia to make equal access to football services and facilities a standard practice.
